One of the most difficult clubs in the bag to hit is the “Long Irons”. This means the 2, 3 and 4 iron. Even for a very experienced player these clubs are difficult to use well.Mizuno JPX-800 Driver

The reason these clubs give so many golfers problems is that it’s difficult to get the correct trajectory with them. The long irons tend to fly to low and there fore are not very useful when hitting to the green. These long irons also have a very small “sweet spot” making them difficult to make good contact with.

So I suggest you consider replacing these clubs with some “Hybrids”. These clubs have a similar loft to the long irons & the same length shaft but the head looks more like a small fairway wood. They allow the golf ball to climb into the air more easily & are certainly a better option than those old “Long Irons”. The Hybrid clubs have certainly made the long shots from the fairway easier than they used to be with the more traditional long irons. “Fairway Woods” too have change over the years. When I learnt to play golf these clubs were mostly made of actual “wood”. They had a very small sweet spot & were difficult to create the correct trajectory. Much like the long irons were.
