Unable to download itunes 9

Hello friends,
Please provide me some solution for my need, i want to upgrade my iTunes 8 to iTunes 9. I am unable to download the latest version of itunes for several time so i need a correct guidance to download itunes 9. My apple ipod it doesn't work on itunes 8, for this reason i need to upgrade it. the operating system of my computer is windows XP home edition service pack 3. So i really need some good suggestion which would be appreciated.

Is there a problem with your internet connection? The same thing happened to me because when I tried to download it, my connection timed out. Check to see if your internet connection is getting a good signal.
