PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – They say there is nothing in this game quite like an Augusta roar on a late Sunday afternoon in April and they are right.
At least, they were right. They were not here on Saturday. They were not here to see Tiger Woods be Tiger Woods for the first time since – well, since you know what. Honma Beres MG803 Iron Set
One roar came from the downhill 15-foot birdie putt he made at 17. Honma Beres MG702 Iron Set It could be heard at the far end of the course. It probably could be heard from Salinas.
Suddenly, fans following Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els or one of the leaders changed direction in hopes of catching the Woods finish. Another roar came from the 3-wood he nailed on 18 from 260 which gave him a chance at a rare eagle. It did not matter that he missed the left-to-right 20-footer. The point he made with his back-nine surge was more relevant. Honma BERES MG802 Irons
A marshal behind the 18th green put it best: ”He’s baaack.”
This was not supposed to happen. This was the major, according to the experts, that Woods, for a change, wasn’t the overwhelming favorite. Some speculated he might not make the cut.
