Colin Montgomerie, Mizuno MP 630 Fast Track driver Or Mizuno MP-630 driver the seven-time winner of the Volvo Order of Merit has decided not to play in the Peugeot Open de Espa?a this season, instead opting for success stateside by entering the Shell Houston Open.

The big Scot earned his college degree at Houston University and played college golf at Houston Baptist in his youth Golf Drivers.

Guy Kinnings, Golf Clubs Monty's manager says Montgomerie has wanted to play the Houston Open for years but always had a title to defend in Europe or other corporate obligations. That's not the case this year, and the order of merit is not in the forefront of his mind.

Mizuno golf clubs with Darren Clarke holding a sizeable lead in the Order of Merit after his win over Tiger Woods in the Andersen Consulting Matchplay, Montgomerie appears to be heading for Major success on the other side of the pond.

The Houston Open starts on 27th April, Mizuno Golf Drivers three weeks after the Masters. Monty will Captain the GB&I side in the inaugural Seve Ballesteros Trophy at Sunningdale before heading to America for his assault on the Houston Open, Mizuno MP Craft Driver returning for the Benson and Hedges International at the Belfry to defend his first title of the year.
